For 10 days REMOVE THREE WHITE DEVILS : flour, sugar and dairy milk. This also applies to whole wheat flour which has been revealed to cause similar if not same adverse effects of white flour. Soft/ Sweetened beverages/ Juices/ any drinks with preservatives, artificial colourings, sweeteners and flavourings. Processed Meats eg. corn beef, luncheon meat, bacon, turkey bacon, sausages etc.
Refined Cooking oils like vegetable, corn, soya, canola All forms of dairy Drugs such as sedatives and excessive pain relieving medications. If you are on prescribed medications, speak to your doctor to receive support and guidance to safely detox your body. Lotions, potions and make up applied to the skin - the skin is the largest organ in the body and it's role is to protect us from external toxins. Applications of chemical compounds with unsafe ingredients such as parabens, sulphites and other toxic ingredients are directly absorbed into the skin and are a large contributor to toxin burden.
Studies have revealed a strong relationship between these chemicals and hormonal and metabolic dysfunction especially in women. Filtered drinking water- The human body is made up of 70% water. Hydration is important to support the organs including the kidneys and biochemical pathways involved in detoxification. Hot beverages like unsweetened green tea Support for Elimination Pathways : Defecation (passing stool) regularly ie. 1-2 times per day is an important method of detoxification to remove waste from the body. Ways to support your digestion is through adequate hydration, eating high fibre foods in the form of fruits, vegetables and ground provisions, using supplements like Magnesium Citrate, probiotics, fermented foods (See article: ‘Is gut health important?’) and adding ground flax seeds to shakes.
Vitamins: Use high quality vitamins which contain a wide range of vitamins and minerals which are essential in biochemical pathways in the body. Detoxifying food in the form of 8-10 servings of colourful (blue, green, purple, yellow, orange, red) fruits and vegetables daily. These colours naturally occurring in foods such as blueberries, cabbage, broccoli, red peppers, carrots etc are present because of biochemical compounds that are powerful detox agents when used regularly and in variety. It's important to clean these properly with chemical free cleaners such as castor oil, or peel and remove blemishes on these fruits and vegetables. Herbs & Spices: Some herbs & spices offer targeted health benefits related to detoxification. The compounds found in curry leaves are powerful antioxidants shown to reduce the toxicity of known carcinogens. The active components of dill promote drug detoxification and increase detoxification enzyme activity in the liver, stomach, and intestinal mucosa. Ginger stimulates digestion, circulation, and sweating processes that help cleanse the colon, liver, and other organs. Rosemary enhances bile flow, which helps with fat metabolism and detoxification, and promotes proper peristaltic activity. This increases nutrient absorption and helps reduce the body’s toxic load. Rosemary also contains carnosol, an antioxidant with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric is known for its liver-detoxifying properties, as well as its anti-inflammatory and cancer-fighting characteristics. Absorption of curcumin (the powerful phytonutrient that gives turmeric its bright yellow color) is increased by piperine, the active compound in black pepper, so turmeric and black pepper should be consumed together.
Movement and Sweating - Exercise in the form of short high intensity work outs allowing for sweating is an essential part of detoxification. It not only helps excretion of toxins through the skin but also improves blood flow to allow toxins to be removed from tissues more effectively.Also, toxins are mostly stored in fatty tissue, therefore the more body fat percentage you have, the higher your toxic load will likely be. 1. Remove 3 white devils, sweetened beverages, topical creams and lotions, contact with chemical cleaners in addition to packaged food and snacks.
2. Drink lemon water or apple cider vinegar in warm water first thing in the morning and hydrate with water or coconut water throughout the day
3. Eat balanced meals with organic and clean detoxifying foods such as cruciferous vegetables and clean lean proteins and non starchy vegetables
4. Change oils to coconut and olive oil
5. Add herbs and spices to meals and tonics
6. Relax and Meditate
7. Sweat through exercise and consider Infrared Sauna Therapy for deep sweat and effective detoxification
